PanicMap

PanicMap is an artistic platform founded by theater director, playwright, and researcher in digital stage devices Juan Pablo Mendiola along with Margarita Burbano in 2012. As the artistic director, Mendiola develops his most personal proposals here with a determined interest in continuing to develop his own stage language and a recognizable discourse.

Committed to innovation, at PanicMap we articulate narrative, body, space, and digital device in the performing arts. We continuously investigate to integrate digital arts within stage creation, resulting in a recognizable language of our own that expands the limits of the theatrical experience. Our artistic works invite immersion into unsettling worlds, where the graphic universe and poetics come together to tell real stories; dramaturgies of our time that question the individual's identity in modern society.

With each new artistic proposal, we decide to delve into the abyss, committing to an idea and beginning an exciting research process. Along with Juan Pablo Mendiola, various creators involved in the project — actors, dancers, choreographers, composers, graphic designers, digital artists, and researchers from different fields — establish an ever-evolving creative dialogue.

Mendiola charts a map, unique and different for each project. Research and creation journey together through these cartographies of multiple discoveries that make the creations, directed both at adults and early childhood, stimulating and unique experiences.
